Program Strength
These programs are a part of Quebec’s preferred list. Preferred list is derived based on labor shortages in a particular field. This implies that the students studying this program may have a better chance of integrating into the Canadian workforce. It also means that students upon successful completion of the program are entitled for valuable immigration points, if they intend to apply for Canadian Residency.

Competencies
  • To enable the students to acquire the knowledge,skills and attitudes required to identify, install, maintain,repair and modify drainagesystems, venting systems, and hot and cold water supply systems.
  • To understand and apply the Québec Plumbing Code;to solve problems related to the operation of water
    heaters to read and interpret plumbing and heatingplans for single and multiple-unit residences.
  • To install, adjust and maintain natural gas and propane-burning systems
  • Installation and maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems
Prerequisites
  • Québec High School Diploma (D.E.S.)
  • Secondary IV credits in English Mother Tongue, French Second Language and Mathematics
  • General Development Test and specific prerequisites
  • equivalence as established by the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport or the ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles.
